Nights Away Training Weekend @ Gilwell

The Nights Away Weekender is a two-night, hands-on skills conference designed for anyone working towards, holding, or looking to develop their Nights Away Permit.

From Friday 17 to Sunday 19 April 2026, participants will camp, learn, experiment and connect with other volunteers who love delivering unforgettable overnight adventures for young people.

The weekend is practical, creative and packed with real-world learning, with a mix of hands-on outdoor sessions and relaxed indoor workshops. Sessions include:

- Navigating Nights Away admin and progressing your permit

- Delivering brilliant residentials for Squirrels, Beavers and Cubs

- Catering for groups

- Taking groups abroad

- Bushcraft skills, tool safety and kit maintenance

- Greenfield camping

Whether just starting their Nights Away journey or ready to level up, sessions are shaped around every stage of experience.

Times: Arrival from 13:00 on Friday, departures from 14:00 on Sunday

Location: Scout Adventures Gilwell Park, Chingford, London, E4 7QW

Pricing (2026 held at 2025 event price):

- Standard ticket: £40 per person (includes camping, self-catering, all workshops and event badge)

- Indoor accommodation upgrade: £30 per person (shared dorm-style rooms for Friday and Saturday night, first come, first served)

- Catering options: £50 per person (Friday dinner to Sunday lunch), Individual meals: breakfast and lunch £8, dinner £12
